As an outside, I don't get why any class promoter is even considering softer tyres.
One of the commonest complaints I've heard of modern karting at various levels is: 'The tyres are too soft!'

The softer/grippier the rubber the smaller the gap between good and mediocre drivers and the more expensive it is to test and compete.

I'm surprised anyone is stupid enough to actually want softer rubber in their class.
IMO The only people who stand to gain are the promoters, tyre sellers and cheque book racers.
