First of all check whether the seat stays are tight on the current seat, if they are, then you will need to get them widened and then get the welds checked.

I put pieces of wood on the inside of my seat and then put a jack in place between them. I then warm up the seat and expand the jack. then allow the seat to cool with the wood and jack still in place.

Be careful not to overheat the glass, if you see it going brown or can smell the fibreglass, you have it too hot.

But as Mr Tillett says, its a risk and your choice.
