Hi Stephen,
Glad to haer that your lad is OK and hope he soon gets back on the track and enjoys it.
As there is currently a petition mentioned on this forum regarding possible safety issues with the Zip nose cone it would be interesting to know what type of nose cones were involved in your incident and the resulting damage.
If one or both had the Zip nose cone it sounds as if the shovel effect might not have been an issue this time but if both had the flat nose cones then it would also be interesting to hear about the extent of damage to the karts/drivers.
We hear a lot about incidents when a Zip is involved but very little when it is other makes.
