I had an email from John yesterday saying that he was off on holiday until 23rd.

As far as evidence is concerned I would also have thought that reports would have been submitted for every red flag incident but I'm not sure if this is the case or how detailed these would be.

These things happen very quickly so it is unlikely that there will always be good witness reports - just look at the number of complaints on this forum from people saying the official response to an incident was `no one saw it'.

Perhaps we need a system whereby there is a tannoy announcement asking for witnesses after a red flag incident - but that would take up a lot of the officials time and perhaps impact on the day's racing.

I believe that in one of THRs posts he mentioned that the meeting to discuss his lad's accident proved inconclusive but that Zip and the MSA believed that where the nose cone was damaged this could be an issue. I also believe that running the nose cone loose will make it more dangerous but have seen plenty on the grid that are almost touching the ground!

There have also been cases of people fitting a new nose cone for scrutineering but then using an old damaged one for racing - this will only be picked up by checks on the dummy grid but how many clubs do this?

I fully support your view that the petition and evidence should be sent to the MSA and Zip. This is probably the first concerted effort to gather views and evidence and I hope the MSA do respond when it is formally presented to them.

What I do not know is how many accidents involving karts flipping happened before the Zip nose cone was introduced . This nose cone is now in its third year but this year there seem to have been more serious incidents involving a Zip (or maybe just more publicity).
