This is one reason why it is difficult for the MSA to just jump in with a ban.

Another factor may be the number of nose cones run loose so that they almost scrape on the track.

Scrutineering will not pick up all these problems and some people use a new nose cone for scrutineering and the old one for racing (to keep replacement costs down). Ideally there should be checks on the dummy grid for damage and to ensure they all have the minimum clearance.

If these checks have to be carried out by the scrutineers then it may be a problem as they can not be on the dummy grid and in parc ferme and are there enough available to cover this need at all tracks?

If the MSA did impose a ban without real evidence then what would happen if the next weekend a cadet flipped after a crash involving a kart that had spun? Does all cadet racing have to be suspended until we find a nose cone that can not cause a flip?

I would not want to see any more kids hurt but I am not convinced that an immediate ban on the Zip nose cone is the answer.
