Ben, thanks but I wasn't fishing for compliments.

I watched your tkm festival, and if I had a fraction of the £, resources manpower and kit, and time, consequently, most of my video is shot by just 2 cameramen, of which I'm one and I wouldn't call myself a pro, and the other is a talented tree surgeon, hence the extensive static and onboard footage, I also produce a finished product (a 4.5hr double DVD in 2 to 3 weeks), if only I had more time but as the production is only subsidised by club members and is both act of love for my club and exercise in proving what can be done on a shoestring, I make no apology, except for the commentary, I am no commentator, and geography and time, means I do my best... You're right FCP, can't afford broadcast cameras, high def prosumer cameras, although I believe the future for minority sports is not broadcast, the role out of fast broadband, and merging of internet/tv/iplayer I reckon we'll be watching Internet on the tv & you won't tell the difference, my small low cost, good quality production maybe the most cost effective future to promote sports such as karting, although that's another debate, and not my purpose for posting.

I dissected your tkm event in about 10 mins, your production Team static camera was mounted above the fence in the final corner looking back toward the toe of the boot, cameramen in
Inside Turn1, outside at oblivion, Xmas corner, and ttys crane chum into the boot. I assume the crane was to put some movement into any camera with the lack from onboard, especially with demise of your onboard thanks for letting us know...

I shot the whole thing with a production staff of 2 a week or so later, although I'd preferred 3.

Although I have to say I have the luxury of onboard footage, to cover gaps and add excitement, while I know of Hammond, kartng and and being strapped into a tight roll cage are hardly the same? Don't you think? I can't envisage a scenario where a small plastic case containing fragile electronics is going to get crushed between a helmet and something solid to force a penetration of a helmet, I have had this debate with officials before I still always lose, as do the viewers (drivers) themselves really. Which is a shame all round, as we all really want to show/promote the sport in the best possible light, even the msa.

I only ever do cut, maybe you're watching the edited YouTube video, try my website for the full versions.

I enjoyed your intro piece to tkm festival btw, I never get the chance to do such things.
