You are not allowed to use a car spec race suit for karting (under MSA rules) whatever the spec. Even an FIA 3 layer with full underwear kit suitable for GP's is not acceptable for even club karting.
The fact that our Car suts cost around a grand for a good one is not a factor as legal kart suits have to pass abrasion tests for their approval which the Nomex suits will fail. The reverse is true of a top spec kart suit in an MSA car event as the kart suit does not have the fire retardent propertie.
The car boots and gloves are fine for karting but again kart boots and non FIA gloves are not permissable in cars, again due to the lack of fire protection.
