Jamie,

I may agree with you, I was giving the 'out of the book' answer, namely that it is the clubs who are member, not the drivers.

Changing that rule requires the clubs to agree to it and so far, none of them has asked for it to be done. This could be either because they have decided against it or because no-one has approached them about it.

One of the reasons then, that the minutes have a restricted circulation is that they currently normally deal with issues that affect the clubs rather than the drivers. For example, some clubs are better than others in their organisation. If you represented a club would you think it any concern of drivers generally, rather than your club members, how that was resolved?

(I note for example, though, that in the examples you raise: Super 1 can alter the price it charges for a meeting because it creates closed meetings and the money goes to S1. All the money, except for the trophy fee, at an NKRA meeting goes to the club.

Equally, the NKRA format is that the events are run according to the club rules. Hence it is the club that sets the format. So while most of the clubs do ballot gridding, Buckmore for example does timed qualifying. Hence when the NKRA goes there, the event is timed qualifying?

It would seem though that you are right in that there is also a need for drivers to be better informed on driver issues and have a route to raise their particular concerns.

Though of course, the NKRA committee might need some help with that, and they are always short of volunteers.

Which is of course why so much of the organisation etc falls on the Shone's shoulders and, ironically, the loudest complaint is that so much of the organisation etc is done by the Shones.

" Unfortunatly I won't be competing in the series this year as Easykart calls but I will be following it closely this year."

Unfortunately so many useful people have other commitments, and it stops the NKRA being as successful as it might be .

(Yes, Jamie, I know you are a supporter of the NKRA, I wasn't having a dig.)

But as an example of how individual effort can amke a difference, Steve Barlow in Scotland seems to have got more clubs involved more or less all on his own. (Though even there, some people are moaning because they liked having all the races at one track.)
