Nobody mentioned us supplying a dvd to everyone until we did.... followed by what can only be construed as a negative response to it. The free DVD was added in as some additional value, and has not got much to do with listening to Customers, as nobody had asked for it or assumed it would be part of the package.

Nobody in TKM is having it forced on them.... the TV was withdrawn in response to the negative feedback. You could perhaps argue that for the other classes, but contrary to opinions expressed here by some, John did ask around (of course it was not everybody), and had the impression it was in the main what people wanted. As Rotax now has more registered drivers than for the last several years, it suggests a positive response. I'm not suggesting anyone is over the moon about paying the extra, but it is certainly the case that some consider it a price worth paying for what is ultimately the top level of the sport in the UK.

I've not seen much arguing as such from John, simply a statement stating his position and why decisions have been made. There has been a certain amount of negativity on this site, but it is our job (those of us with any involvement in the series that is) to do as much as we can to turn that around and provide a championship that you are happy with. From experience, that is a very difficult thing to achieve, as the competitive nature of the sport means there will always be unhappy people if they feel decisions have not gone their way, or not been considered.

The reason for making onboard cameras mandatory is an attempt to address some of the contact. It will have a by-product of ensuring we always have onboard footage, and that is great for viewers who have never experienced the thrill of driving a fast kart... but the main reason is to address contact issues. That has to be seen as a positive step forward.... even FIFA with all their technology and the obvious advantages of using camera footage to make the right decisions can't get their act together on this issue. You might be forgiven for thinking so, but I can tell you that John has made a number of considered decisions about everything to do with how the championship is run over a period of time. You might not like them, but he has made them in an effort to improve the delivery of the series as an event so that more people want to be part of it. As things stand, certainly from the Rotax perspective, that seems to have had a successful impact. I believe the MSA series may also see an improvement in numbers overall.

The reason for my postings are as part of an effort on my part to support the series, answer the comments made in a rational and sensible way, based on my knowledge of the facts. I will continue to try and address any concerns, but cannot always guarantee it will be exactly what you want to hear.
