And anecdotal evidence (i.e. quite possibly completely false) from Germany suggests that the karting market there is healthier. Certainly there is a far broader mix of kart engines, with a much smaller proportion of Rotax (though growing), a much larger proportion of gearbox – that’ll be music to the ears of some here – as well as a larger fringe of 100cc, VT250, Aixro, Hirth and then some. (I understand that KF is failing there, too). Oddly, the Germans have more of a free-market approach to this market than seems to be the case here. Live and let live (or fade away), and let’s all have fun in the meantime. Why on earth seek more restriction imposed from “above”?
