If he needs one right now then the CMR would be the best choice. If his helmet is still legal and fits then it might be worth hanging on to see if prices come down over the next couple of months if more come onto the market. Current prices are around Ł300.

Having gone onto the Arai and Bell sites and read about the background and development of these helmets they do seem a good idea.

The bad news is that the visors are bigger than on the standard helmets so you may find yours don't fit - only an issue if you have tinted ones for your current helmet as they come with a clear one fitted.
