as I understand it is normally a quick test to determine if it is fuel as supplied, eg. looking for marker as this is the most practical thing to do during racing. However I understand a full 'scan' takes over 30 minutes, and can and will be done if required. If an official suspects something this can be done.
You can understand why the full test is not done all the time as the karts would be in park ferme for up to 1.5 hours while the usual 3 tests are done.
This is still better than doing nothing.
