I'm no expert but I find you need plenty of lubricant (tyre paste is best but washing up liquid or WD40 also work) and you need to get the tyre deep down into the well of the rim.
I have had situations where both me and my son have only managed to get them on when doing it together though.
I can't comment on SL6's but Dunlop DDS/DDM/DDH's are b***ards to get on!
