Actually not too good to be true. The market they are aiming at is larger than the karting market which is very small. These units are good for recording the running time of machinery and the electronics within them is very cheap. Karting units are ludicrously over priced because their market is limited. That is the same for all markets. You cannot "stack them high, sell them cheap" like a suprmarket unfortunately. I would think you would be safe if you buy one. I just wondered why it needed an earth point to attach to, as these unit will normally trigger without an earth.
