But what we are talking about here is short circuit racing.I don't follow long circuit, it's a tad too niche. There will always be exceptions that prove the rule because that's racing, but you will not find 1 driver at the highest levels of British and World short circuit karting that would dream of experimenting on old tyres.

It simply doesn't happen because it would consistently leave you behind the front runners, as long as there's consistency in tyre manufacturer. Everyone on the forum has their glory stories, but in the real world of weekend to weekend racing if you've got the money you buy new tyres.

On the rare occasion it may pay off, but over the long term a policy of running second hand tyres will be to your detriment.
