So does anyone have any evidence, anecdotal or otherwise that a previously lightly damaged helmet failed.
In nearly 30 years motorcycling I've never seen or heard any such evidence. But maybe I've been wearing blinkers. What I have heard is a huge number of people trotting out the same, 'you can't put a value on your head' type statements, as some sort of excuse/justification to be ripped off by an overpriced branded product.
Just as, where is the evidence than non CMR helmets have caused preventable injuries in kids. I'm all for added safety and I would certainly replace a helmet with visible damage, but I won't be taken in by the hype and BS.
