Stan started karting in the early 1960's, and was a particular fan of the 6 hour enduro races that were very popular then, particularly on the continent, and was extremely successful in them. He ran his own toolmaking company, and was one of the few kart traders with a proper engineering background. He was ahead of his time with the design of the Le Spectre kart, unfortunately karters were too conservative in the 70's to give him the success he deserved with it. He could talk for england, and had a "colourful" turn of phrase that was always entertaining! His home was always open to karters in need of his engine preparation skills, and I learnt much from watching him at work. I'll miss him....sad news.
