So then why is it not dominating karting then? I agree that on paper TKM is the perfect package, but as Aquila said, it's not what kids are after these days, which is sad. You've mentioned relative speed before QOT, and I'd like to believe you when you say that clearly performance isn't that important when people decide on what class they choose. But I can only imagine the only reason why Rotax is more popular than TKM is because TKM is slower. If TKM was quicker engine then I really can't see ANY reason why people would choose the Max over it.

If speed really is an issue, then you would have thought a 100 National type class would be the most popular, but even that class died out. Go figure!
