When the first draft of the rules for Super cadet came out there were complaints that the weight limit was too low and too close to the existing cadet (comer) weight and therefore did not help the cadets who were too big/heavy for the cadets.
The original proposal was also to increase the minimum age limit for all some junior classes but this was scrapped after the class organisers proposed having a lower weight limit to help with the driver to kart weight ratio.
A weighted waistcoat might sound a tempting solution for a very light driver but would they be safe in an accident where the driver comes out of the kart?
