Under EU law (which the UK recognises) you CAN take your car to ANY VAT registered garage and so long as they use origional equipment OE parts,specified oil grade for engine,and issue you a vat receipt the manufacturer HAS to stand by the warranty.
The idea of not being able to,as it will "void your warranty" is a ploy by manufacturers to keep their UK dealerships in business.
Our local Ford and Vauxhall dealers charge £90 an hour !!!
