Having made some enqiuries on the subject of lead on seats I have discovered that there are a number of seat models from a manufacturer that the scruits have been informed of that have faied and lost the weight due to a very thin construction and thus they have been advised to take special care and attention to this. Another point worth thinking of is the sixe of the ballast used. A large flat area of ballast will be supported more efficiently by the seat, where as a larhe lump will be more prone to breaking free, hence the design of the weights we carry in stock being large, flat lead mouldings. Lead is unfortunately expensive at the moment buy at least you should only ever need to buy it once.
