Just change the way you think. A Father and Son is no less a "team" than a team with a big awning and lots of drivers. I wonder how many drivers are really happy with what their "teams" provide. At the end of the day in each class there4 will only ever be one winner.

You are giving your son 100% of your time and you are learning together. There are many other advantages.

When I need something new eg a compressor, small awning, tools I just think of the thousands I've saved not running in a team and go out and buy the best.

Off course if you absolutely must win and have deep pockets then off course a team is for you.
