If you go to the aim/nychron site you can download the manuals. The one for the e-box does show some sensors that go to the front wheels and rear axle.
There is a lot of data available from the mychron and ebox/gps etc that may give the information he is after but nothing that says `release sensor'.
The downside of course is that you have to learn how to interpret and use the data and have the time to do so.
