As a rule of thumb we work on SL3's being good for up to 400 laps. If you want to ensure they are always at their best when racing then use them 200 laps for racing then 200 laps for practice. You can't go on how much they are worn as they would probably last for ever if you weren't concerned about grip level. Their performance is more related to how many heat cycles they have been put through.
