How is this rule supposed to be enforced? I would have thought that this could onjly be checked when the axle is off the kart and even then would require a special piece of equipment.
If you are right about axles only failing if they are deeply scored (I have no reason to doubt you) then it would suggest that karters need to accept more responsibility for their equipment. rather than impose more work on scrutineers why not allow self-scrutineering and leave more time for scrutineers to help people who are new to the sport/class to understand what checks they should be doing?
