I was at the meeting this weekend and saw first hand both incidents on practice day and race day. Thankfully no one was seriously hurt in either.
From my view, I would say the speed differential may have been a factor but I think some of the regular lads struggled with the unpredictable driving nature of some of the new lads. Both incidents happened on the exit of the bus stop. I have raced there before and at kart level you are momentarily unsighted as you pass the marshalls post on entry into the bus stop. I don't think this helped with either incidents.
Some of the lines used were very 'unorthodox', and I think this caused confusion when overtaking.
