I think in a sort of true H&S nation we are talking about introducing rules to protect us from ourselves when we should just introduce some common sense.

I really think driving with faster drivers even if only for a corner teaches slower drivers a lot more then days of lapping on their own will.

The heats system is a great tool (Indycar are looking at using it this year) and is the reason the UK has 3 stellar overtakers on the F1 grid and Italy has no one at all.
