Depending on the make of helmet, you could send it back to the importer, I believe Phoenix provide this service for Arai helmets.

If you think its been hit hard enough to damage the shell, then you can do a tap test on it yourself. With a coin, start at an area where you are pretty certain there is no damage and gently tap the outer shell. repeat this all over the helmet, if you start getting a dull sound in an area in comparison to the rest of the helmet then there is a good chance it is delaminated and will need replacing.

There is the other thought if you are concerned about it replace it anyway, just in case.

You could check through yellow pages for companies doing NDT inspection and ask if they can do composite structures.
