| | You guessing is way out - never been a 3 sets of tyres for a club weekend member.
In the case of your `average mid grid club racer' if they do 10 races a year at £200 a time then that is a £2k budget and so this transponder would represent 10% of their budget. I would agree that is quite significant.

However, how many of these racers are members of TVKC and likely to be affecxted?

As you have to be a member at TVKC to race there I would think that the champoionship tables would give an indication of their total membership - around 400 (about 10% of all kart licence holders).

The majority of members only appear to race 2 or 3 times a year which would suggest they go thetre to practice before a FKS/S1 round or pior to kartmasters(and no FKS in 2013). They will either have a TAG transponder or can hire one.

A rough count of drivers competing in 4 or more rounds in 2012 came to around 140 +/-. This is the group really affected by the change of transponder and with the championship in 2012 being over 6 rounds the hire cost for the season would have been £60 - hiring could be quite a good option on that basis.
