I understand that Ian but surely there is a limit with what they are allowed to spend the money on without the rest of the members say so.

For instance you wouldn't expect them to be allowed to buy a car so they can get to the circuit as they don't have any other way of getting there at 07:00 on a Sunday morning. This I would expect is not spending the money in the rest of the members best interests so wouldn't be allowed.

So would spending the money on legal costs be in the rest of the members best interests?

I suppose without knowing the full story it's difficult to say whether or not it is acting in the members best interests but I would think that the money in the club is untouchable by the current track owners so I cannot see why spending money on legal fee's is acting in the clubs best financial interests.

I would have thought something like this would have to be put up to vote amongst the rest of the members.
