Advertised my van on the martketplace recently and had two attempted scams as mentioned in the warning notice.

Both claimed to want the van but said they worked off-shore and would arrange for their agent to collect it.

They wanted to pay the agent fees to me through paypal and get me to send it on by western union! One wanted Ł400.00 sent but the other was greadier and wanted Ł950.00.

They even had set up fake paypal email addresses so that they could show the funds were held in secure accounts ready for release as soon as I sent the western union transfer number.

The email addresses they used (which will probably change soon) were:-

Lucas Benjamin" <lucasbenjamin855@yahoo.co.uk

Bill Mayer" <bignis09@gmail.com

The guy calling himself Bill Mayer sent me an email calling me Mark then sent a correction so maybe he he also trying to con another forum member.

Just posting as a warning to others selling on the marketplace - happily we also have plenty of honest guys and gals on here.
