I was holding back :-)
All transponders are is a very simple transmitting device, decoder and timing loop also, you can adapt an AMB decoder to receive TAG transponders but invalidates the warranty.

I have worked in software most of my life and had one of our developers take a look, around 5 days of solid development could get a stunning solution and would need a few tweaks here and there, the power is in the software not the hardware!
