Why keep blaming the MSA? No club is being forced to run these new classes or indeed any existing class. It wouldn't take many members attending the agm to get a motion passes to only run x,y and z classes for next year.
Most clubs are run on a voluntary, non-profit making basis so the main criteria is having enough entries to cover costs.
I believe there was a discussion a couple of years ago where it was pointed out that the MSA could not prevent new classes starting up although they seem to be trying to impose some restrictions by having homologation periods.
There have been a lot of threads complaining about the cost of Roitax - may always be the same 2/3 people starting these threads - and this could put people off the classes. Maybe the promotors of KGP and Iame X30 are just offering an alternative - obviouisly they are doing it on a business basis but they are taking a financial risk and probably plan to put in some money to promote them.
No doubt they are both talking with clubs to try and get them included in the 2014 programmes but then it is alkl down to the customers which they choose to do.
Rotax is obviously a safe bet as it is well established whilst the others MAY have to start with a few clubs within reasonable travel times of each other.
If you are interested in either of the new classes then why not call the promotors and ask which clubs have committed for next year - maybe also arrange to test one of the engines?
Which is worse - the risk of dilutying grids (although libra grids might work) or having a single engine with a monopoly on UK karting?
