Not sure why everyone blames the MSA. Clubs do run libre grids although they often give trophies by class.

There was a thread a few years ago where it was pointed out that the MSA enforced rules and regulations that were often set by the class promoters and also could not prevent new classes being introduced.

Clubs can decide if they want to introduce a new class and club members could have their say and stop new classes - but they would have to either write to the club secretary or attend the agm and most are not willing to do that.

If people are happy with the class they race then it is unlikely that a new class will succeed. If it looks better then the old class will fade out - market forces should sort it out.
