The Kart Committee members are listed on P17 of the Blue Book, but with the addition of Carol Blanchard for Scotland.
Andrew is right, Kart Championships held within a standard club meeting (P384 of Blue Book) should be amalgamated with the normal club race (that is how I understand the Max Series was to happen). Exactly why that category is there. A permit costs as little as Ł50 but if no permit, then no adding up of points - unofficial or not. I'm sure the MSA would make clear to anyone what can and can't be done if there is no permit- no accrued points or results or overall awards, but can have a register of drivers and common regulations for support races (the tour?). There's a big demand for such championships and they can be very successful - but they must have a permit to be lawful under MSA regulations. The ABkC's concern is about any action that might be taken against a member club. I don't know why the organisers decided to cancel, perhaps they should make it clear.
The applicants for the new classes for 2014-16 would be well aware of the restrictions on not having championships except for club championships during that period. There are two schools of thought - either start a new class at the championship level, eg KGP Snr and Super Cadet, or at club level eg X30 and KGP Jun and see if it grows. Having tried the former, the latter view predominated for the new classes.
