On the whole I believe Kimbolton is run very well and a great circuit. Better than most but not without it's issues as observed above.

Yes the officials do miss quite a few things and are pedantic about trivial things but re the later you just have to accept that's the way they are and stay within the lines.

My thoughts are:

1) karting lacks an ethos of respect and safety which is surprising given kids now make up the majority. This requires a cultural change from top to bottom. I'm sorry but just telling drivers they can't win the race at the first corner doesn't cut the mustard.

2) Some classes had at least 3-5 karts loaded and spun at the first corner in every race. Therefore isn't it time officals had the right to immediately put out the red flag and abandon the race on the grounds of recklessness and disrespect for safety. Even the idiots who do the loading will eventually work out if they want a race they have to show respect at the first corner. Yes everyone loses but once the chancers understands the standard expected I believe we could virtually irradicate first corner incidents.

2) Kart plastics/bodywork has just encouraged chancy reckless driving. The FIA/CIK/MSA are well aware of this and changes are soon to be implemented. Whether they have found a solution only time will tell.

3) Kimbolton should move the start to the TKM straight which is followed by a medium fast 90 degree left with good run off room. This layout works well at Rissington.
