why are we over complicating it?

battenberg flag = can't overtake and line up behind the leader whose going around 25-50% race speed.

you just have to make sure you don't overtake the kart in front. simple. Always works whenever I've seen it deployed.

Just think of the lead kart as the safety car. you all know who is in front of you. so it just works itself out.

If the race finishes under batten berg then the order of finishing is exactly the same as a race under green flag.
