Rob, you are also close to Fulbeck, www.lkrc.co.uk close to PFi but maybe less daunting for the newcomer, go along to both on race weekends and get a feel for the sport, on Saturday it will be practice so bit less busy than Sunday race day and thats the chance to ask questions.

But decide where you want to go, post on here and I am sure someone attending will guide you in the right direction.
