What's not to like?

Might depend how far away the `smaller' club is as it may involve extra travel costs for a local family.

Could be a big problem for a family with a cadet and junior driver as one may not be able to race that weekend as the family does not have two sets of suitable transports/awnings etc.

Is the problem caused by a club having too many club drivers entering or is it morea case of visiting series like LGM or NKF adding too much extra pressure?

Maybe better for clubs to state the maximum number of entries they can accept whilst providing decent track time. Then allow club members priority booking up to 10 or 14 days ahead of the meeting and only then accept other entries.

Or maybe the smaller championship series need to join forces so that they can hold stand-alone meetings - or just race at those smaller clubs?
