OK, its now May, and we have all had a good play with the new SL2 cadet tyre. I am hearing mixed views, admittedly I'm on the fence myself and I'm swaying either way, but overall I am lead to believe the MSA introduced the new tyre to slow cadets down. Well if that the case why the hell didnt they just mandate a smaller inlet restrictor for hondas, and a smaller exhaust restrictor for Iame's, this would have cost about £20, and no need for new chassis and tons of testing.

Also If the MSA's secondary aim was to create a tyre that needs a wet set-up to make it work, then I thing they hit the bulls-eye!.....loads of castor and huge ratios seem the order of the day.

It seems after a race days use, the tyres go off, and are not anywhere near as fresh at the next race day, so everyone is throwing on new tyres at club rounds = more cost......the old SL3 lasted 4-6 race days......the new SL2 last just 1 day.

I'm hearing a group of people are writing to the MSA / ABKC to tell them they have wrecked cadet karting......I must admit I'm close to joining in, as the new tyre is a PITA that I just didnt need when the smaller engine restrictors could have so easily achieved the same result at a fraction of the cost.

Am I missing something?......seems like another FUBAR achievement just like the DEP exhaust, poorly considered and poorly implemented.......for sure I enjoy the technical challenge of working things out, but I am gritting my teeth over this new tyre, it appears many others are too.
