Ian,
I left this out of my costings - in February I hired Rowrah for three days to test the Tryton with engines ready for the season - Hah!!!
took a good mechanic/driver coach as we had never been there before and had a Stars, S1 and O plate meeting there.
cost for the three days all in? Over £1k and guess what!

we spent more time collecting James from the track than he spent driving it - maybe a slight exaggeration but not by much. Went through loads of (very reasonably priced) carb kits. Martin and I would have pulled our hair out but could not rustle up enough between us to make it worth while.
One of the carbs had been rebuilt by grant (of Zip fame) the day before we went to Rowrah. When I called him about our three days he said "how was the carb I built for you?" My reply - "Great for about 300 yards (I am getting on in tears so did not know the metric details). Grant then said "sounds like dumping but no one else is having that problem now".
Hey Guys - we have got threads about cost and cheating - they must be depressing enough without resurrecting the Tryton - PLEASE......
You don't have to be MAD to let your kid start karting but it sure helps!!!
