The bottom line is drivers do not buy brand new chassis, nor for that do they matter spend thousands on their karting in order to lighten their bank balances. If winning is the objective, the heavy expense is an unfortunate penalty.

Motor racing is an expensive sport, but its the last few tenths, few hundredths that are the most expensive of all.

I really don't know what more to say here. If you find what I'm saying incredulous, go to a Super 1 event and you'll see it with your own eyes. Ask the front runners approximately what they're spending and you'll see.
