I've seen lot's of the go-faster "equipment" you have listed and I know it doesn't help, painted helmets for one ! 300 + to paint it,i spent quite a bit on Josh's helmet, not cos it looks flash but because i like him and his head as they are. His suit is Level 2 but not new although almost new and a fraction of new price, awnings and motorhomes, not even if i won the lottery we are in it for fun and thats it. If he ever comes away with a trophy thats a bonus,if he comes off the track with a smile like he did last time, everytime, then I have achieved my goal.

We have spent quite a bit of time at Dunkeswell and some at Clay over the last couple of years and the friendliest and sometimes fastest people in cadet class at least seem to be the father and son/daughter "teams" who turn up in a Sherpa or Transit or with a trailer ,and just get on with it.

The teams in the tents look at you sideways if you go within 6' of their equipment ,let alone discuss it with you.

I was saddened to hear recently ,one Mum ,Dad and son,who was doing well up near the front, are thinking of giving up because of "bitchy remarks" all weekend,so whats going to happen to this poor kid now? His weekends are going to be empty ,he will have to find something to fill his time,if he likes driving but can't on a track I hope he doesn't turn to TWOC'ing, and I am being serious not sarcastic. Or will he sit on his PC playing Mario Kart getting un fit.

Time maybe the MSA and other governing bodies, relaxed a little and maybe ,bring in an MOT type test for Kart equipment previously Homologated but now out of date,if it passes safety/emissions,whatever it is useable if doesn't it can't be.

Or really set the cat amongst the pigeons and have different "championships" for Teams and privateers, then an end of season clash of the Titans top 6 from each against each other in karts provided by manufacturers and allocated by drawing lots so no favoritism can be shown. Bit like the Champions League.

Cheers ,Brian, PS maybe I should get one sticker made tho "Part sponsored by patrons of E-Bay,with thanks " ;-)
