That may not be hot enough! Find some charcoal and add THAT at the end and put it on the fire after that!

When finished (and COLD!) rub down the outside with emery cloth (or sand paper if you don't have any) and finish with wire wool to remove rust an rubbish stuck to the outside. Then OIL the outside with any clean oil that you have.

If you want to go 'barmy', go to a gun shop (seriously!) and buy some 'blue-ing' oil and use THAT instead. When you run the motor, the exhaust will go a BEAUTIFUL Kingfisher blue type colour! It looks FABULOUS!
