Hi Alex,

Yes, a lot of teams use different fuel to oil mixtures. JM engineering, the WTP importers, recommend the use of Shell M castor. We use this at 200ml to 5 litres of unleaded (a ratio of 20:1) for racing and Synthetic at 180ml to 5 litres for practice.

I know of at least one other team who use Shell M at 160ml to 5 litres (32:1) but we don't go that low on oil, but after a year they report no problems.

As far as the parts of your engine are concerned, remember that oil is cheaper than metal!
