Did it start to die when you were driving it or did it fail to start after you had it out for a run ? Its possible that the oil seals are knackered on it... the early signs of this would be the motor dying at medium-high rpm... but when the revs drop it might pick up again.

As I said previously, this ain't something to have a bit of fun in. You'll end up destroying it. You're better off selling it before you seize it and getting a BT82.
