The idea of the homologation is to keep the shape of the kart relatively the same, I say relatively as the limits for measurements does allow for a little change or inconsistancy within karts. Its known fact that in the last homologation and the one previous to that manufacturers were playing with materials, chromoly in certain areas and even full chromoly karts.
