I fully agree with you Dave.

That's one of the reasons I think the race transpoters should be a little bit away from where the main activity is going on.

The newbie can then get a look at the karts and the action in the pits and dummy grid with grass roots karters.

I dislike the impersonality of the big awnings with the zip drawn down, although when it's freezing cold......

It always semms a shame when you see a parent and child who are obviously looking around trying to glean some idea of what it's all about, wondering whether they can approach people.

The sheer cost of karting always seems to surprise them most.

Their initial idea seems to be that the track is free and they can get a kart for a couple of hundred pounds and be up there winning.

Their enthusiasm quickly diminishes as they mentally add up the costs.
