I'd hardly count MYSelf as a 'have not'..... but I susppose I am, compared to some.

However, I simply CANNOT imagine myself being a LAUGHING STOCK by OWNING one of those embarrassing motorised caravans!

Dormer Vans were COMEDY VEHICLES for my generation: the biggers ones carry no LESS comedy value for being BIGGER comedy vehicles! They will be forever associated with the likes of Sid James and Hatty Jaques in Carry On films.

However, my main objection is RAMPANT OSTENTATION! Put crudely, they are the motorised equivalent of wearing Gold Jewelry while racing! My thoughts were that by HIDING these 'objects of shame' would be doing the owners a FAVOUR!

Enough of the comedy: I can see NO reason why these behemoths should take the spaces of MORE than one 'dads and lads' escort van without PAYING extra for the spaces they use! I'd rather have TEN 'escort vans' at the front of the pit wall than ONE oversized and SEEDY enlarged dormer van!

If that makes me sound like a Socialist.... so be it. However, if you feel that you DESREVE to PREVENT other karters from using 10 LEGITIMATE spaces for your ONE race team JUST because you can AFFORD such a juggernaught.... that would make you the equivalent of an 18th Century DANDY! In that case..... I'd be on the barricades shouting 'up with the lower classes'!
