Hi all

Took my son out in his cadet kart on saturday for the first time. Not the first time in a kart but the first time in a w60 as opposed to his old s60. Anyway i set the tryton carb up in the garage prior to going and everything was going ok for a few laps then it flooded and we couldn't get it going, every time i stripped it down there was tiny bits of swarf present. I didn't really have the equipment there to get all the swarf out so swapped to a tillotson and eventually got some track time.

Back to the tryton issue. I checked that the needle was the correct one and the spring too and it had a tillotson gasket and diaphragm set which i believe is ok to use. The only thing left to do is give it a good blow out with an air line and remove all the swarf, rebuild and try again. I am hoping this cures the problem. I have searched the threads but can't find any conclusive answers.

My big question is has anyone found that the problems with the tryton have been caused by the swarf. If this doesn't work i am not sure what to try. Are some of them incurable. It is so poor to have swarf in a carb from manufacturing. Many thanks in advance.

PS. I got a lot of help on saturday from other drivers dads. Theres some really good people in this sport.
